The cemetery is located at The south-west outskirth, near the entrance to the town. It was called Hovniv (German), Univ (Hungarian) and Uhnov (Polish). The town is located at 50.22 longitude and 23.45 latitude. Ugni is 62km from L'vov and 40km from Sokal'. The present town population is 5,001 - 25,000 with no Jews.

The earliest known Jewish community in this town was in the 17th century. The Jewish population was in 1931 was 1880. The type of Jewish community which used this cemetery was Hasidic. No other towns or villages used this cemetery.

The cemetery is not listed and/or protected as a landmark or monument.

The cemetery location is urban, located on flat land, isolated, marked by no sign or marker. It is reached by crossing other public property (the territory of hospital). The access is open to all. The cemetery is surrounded by no wall, fence or gate.

The approximate size of cemetery before WWII was 0.81 and is now 0.12 hectares. There are 1 to 20 stones none in their original location. Stones were removed were incorporated into roads or structures.

Stones are datable in the 19th century starting in 1869. The cemetery has only common tombstones. The cemetery contains no known mass graves.

The present owner of the cemetery property is the municipality. The cemetery property is now used for Jewish cemetery use only, industrial or commercial use, storage and waste dumping. Properties adjacent it is commercial or industrial. The cemetery boundaries is smaller now than 1939 because of commercial or industrial development. The cemetery is visited rarely by local residents.

The cemetery has been vandalized during World War II and occasionally in the last 10 years. There is no maintenance now.

Within the limits of the cemetery the hospital. Very serious threat: uncontrolled access (The access is free), pollution (On the cemetery is a dump.) and existing nearby development. Moderate threat: weather erosion (seasonal), vegetation (seasonal), vandalism and proposed nearby development.
